Freewrite #1

My weekends tend to be full of excitement one way or another. Friday night, some friends and i decide to go out for a night on the town before this big competition in the morning. We went to our local hang out spot in Chipotle. Any Chipotle restaurant is know as our spot weather its in Pasadena or Culver City. We've been to them all. So as we order our food, we noticed the tow truck circling around my friends car.

It was almost like a hawk about to swoop down for its prey. So we head out as we take the food to go in a rush, we run out and tell the tow truck driver that we'll move the car. Luckily we got luck and we slipped him a 10 dollar bill and he turn the other way and walked away. This occured at about 9:30pm. To me, the night was still young. So we decided to head back to his place which was a 30 min drive from the restaurant.

So my friend doesnt live on the most evenly leveled street, but he decided to hit full speed going up hill. These streets are not regular streets. They are hollywood knoll streets. they are so freaking small. He drives a Range Rover and just makes fitting into the streets, when we hit a pot hole in the street and the tire blows.

We had no choice but to do it our self's. I just find it funny that in schools, we learn how to add 2+2 but nobody ever thought me about a jack point that the car has. I thought school was supposed to help us survive the real world. We actually took about 45mins trying to put the jack right.

Developing Your Character

Character Name: Dave
Occupation: Unknown
Age: 23

Monday morning has finally come to time. Dave is just an average man waking up to his annoying alarm clock, which he has broken many times in the past. He drags himself to the closet and pulls out his already ironed clothes. It takes him about ten minutes to dress himself while watching the news. Heading down stairs he looks in the mirror while unplugging his Blackberry, and tells himself “Maybe today will be different”. Little did he know that things were finally going to take a spin for the better.

He jumps into his car, and backs out of the driveway. He’s only 23 and just out of college. Still looking for a breakthrough job, he works at a firm with a bunch of old guys. First stop of the day is Starbucks. Ordering his passion tea with a side of muffin. He places his items down to pick up a napkin, over extending his arms he bumps into a regular also at the coffee shop. Dave looks up and meets eyes with the lovely female. He apologizes for his lack of accuracy. She laughs and says “your not alone on that one, I also drop things too”. He replies “Maybe you and I can get together and drop things together”. She nods in a yes manner not knowing what to say.

Writing down her number Dave sneaks in a huge smile.

Setting

I hear the wind blowing through the trees. I hear the animals creeping in the grass. I hear nothing at the peak of the mountain. I hear myself think even more. I hear the thoughts.
I smell the clean air. I smell the trees. I smell myself. I smell everything thats around me. I smell the lies of this government.
I feel the wind passing me by. I touch the roughness of the rocks. I feel the cold air as the sun drops. I touch everything thats around me. I feel the calmness of the quite place.
I see the sun setting as time passes. I see the animals playing in freedom. I see nothing destorying such a nice view. I see green grass get brighter with the reflections of the sun. I see myself in a place where no one can be bothered.
I taste the cleanness of the air. I taste the sweet drink i have with me. I taste the purity of the scene peace. I taste the love of nature that i have for freedom. I taste everything around me thats allowing myself to think.
